Behind the Cards: A Day in the Life of the Best Tarot Card Reader in Mumbai

best tarot reader mumbai

The steaming cup of morning filter coffee sits on my centre table, having just arrived from the gurgling pot, as Mumbai's moonlight filters through the curtains.

This is the hour before the city fully wakes – it’s quiet little moment that's just for me - it's a time to think and be with myself and the universe.

I'm often asked, "What's it really like to be a professional tarot reader?"

Most people wouldn't guess that the well-groomed professional racing into a high-rise corporate office in Mumbai at 8:30 a.m. on a Monday has spent the last two or three hours managing clients' disparate perspectives, futures, and concerns as a tarot consultant the evening before.

I have learned how to navigate and synthesize both worlds: work in a formal, structured corporate environment and how to be more intuitive when required to guide people through their tarot reading.

It is not becoming two different people; its merely polar opposite areas where I can invoke contradictory aspects of myself.

Let me draw the curtains to a normal day in the life of one of Mumbai’s best tarot card reader.

Mornings: Grounding Before the Chaos

My day starts in the dark stillness of the hour just before Mumbai rises to life.

There is something sacred in this time of day while the city still slippers.

Knowing that I don't have to jump into daily chaos just yet, and that I can start the day on my terms, settles my slightly frazzled mind.

The rich aroma of freshly made filter coffee fills my tiny kitchen. It's not just caffeine; it's my anchor at my daily starting point, a requirement so I can face back-to-back meetings, internal and external deadlines, and office politics.

So, if you, in any form, disturb my coffee process - we will undoubtedly have a problem 😊

At 5 AM, I am in my space for meditation. I close my eyes for ten minutes with an OM chant that is playing on YouTube over my noise cancelling earbuds.

At 6 AM, I am in the gym for some cardio - ready to sweat. I curse my shoes with the heavy pace of the treadmill - anything to get me closer to my fitness goals.

There is something beautiful in the simplicity of movement - there are no intricacies to decipher, nothing is metaphorical; it simply is, "do the work, sweat it out."

The Corporate mask: fitting into the crowd

By 7:30 AM, you would never guess what I was up to the night before.  Yes, pressed one-pieces, high heels and I have my professional and corporate mask on - just blended in with the other corporate workers starting their morning commute into Mumbai.

The door to my office building hits the sensors and glides open. Always the first in office, it’s a slow process of a calm environment gradually turning into a chaotic commotion of keyboards clicking or coffee machines whirring.

The privilege of being an early bird means I can organize my thoughts before the day begins its ugly descent into madness.

The workday unfolds in unpredictable patterns – Lots of productive work, with some banal meetings, long emails, insignificant requests popping in as well.

My colleagues think I am reliable, analytical and strategic.

I think they would be shocked to know I lead an entirely different life.

Transitioning Evenings: Boardroom to Tarot Table

The shift starts on the drive home at 5 PM.

I admit I get a bit sidetracked - when I enter the house, my first thought is about getting my poodle, Leo, out for his walk, as he waits for me with his gaze onto the door. His excitement is a reminder that we are more than the revenue created this quarter.

We walk promptly through a route that hasn’t changed in 5 years.

It's an opportunity for me to help him and unwind after a long day.

My only distraction is the wagging tail and keeping him safe from the community dogs.

Dinner is early by Mumbai standards - 6:45 PM mostly. But definitely before 7 PM.

After dinner, I change and head to my reading space. My corporate persona is set aside for now.

I light a candle and prepare for readings from 7 to 8:30 PM. Ninety dedicated minutes of the evening's schedule to conclude my workday, uninterrupted by calls, texts or any "to-do" list items.

It is just me, my cards, and the energy of my clients for those minutes - nothing short of sacred.

Winding Down: Keeping the Magic in Its Place

No matter how enthralled I am, I know I'm ready to end my day by 8:30 PM, and consider watching tarot videos, or possibly reading a book or two.

Studying tarot - but not work - as I have the opportunity to learn new techniques or hear alternative interpretations.

However, there is a time for learning, and I am no exception.  By 9:30 PM, my energy starts fading, it is lights out for this tarot reader.

No all-night magic travel for me (though sometimes the temptation gets high).

The following day brings more to learn and do, and I will definitely need my beauty sleep.

The magnificence of duality:

What I have learned through living this dual life is that spirituality does not require the abandonment of the practical world.

My corporate path impacts me in my tarot reading by making me disciplined, focused, and goal-oriented.

My tarot practice impacts me as a corporate professional by allowing me to work intuitively, empathetically and in relationship with deeper currents of life.

The magic is not based in choosing one path over the other, but in practicing both equally - after all, isn't that what the Two of Pentacles represents?
